Violin Duo -


Violinist Lori Jean began her
musical studies at the age of seven under the instruction of her mother, Kathryn Rodgers.
She received a Bachelors Degree in performance from Cedarville University, followed
by a Master of Music Degree from the University of Utah. Loris musical experience
includes performances with the Springfield (Ohio) Symphony, Wichita Symphony, Utah
Symphony in Salt Lake City, Space Coast Pops Orchestra, and the Orlando Philharmonic
Orchestra. She has participated in concerts with Rosemary Clooney, Joel Grey, Tony
Bennett, and Doc Severenson. Lori has been featured with the "Appassionata" duo,
which made its debut in April of 2004 at the McDonalds Global Convention. She has
recorded her own solo CD, "Memoirs of the Soul", and often participates in area
studio recordings. Lori currently performs in various chamber groups and solo performances
as well as teaching privately in Central Florida.
Jill Weiss began studying piano
at the age of three and violin at the age of six with her mother. She received a
Bachelors Degree in Violin Performance from the State University of New York, and
attended graduate school at Boston University under the tutelage of Peter Zazofsky. As
winner of the Cameron Baird Concerto Competition, Jill was soloist with the UB Symphony.
Her piano teachers include: Shirley Irek, Jonathan Bass and Roland Martin. Jill has
performed with groups such as the New Hampshire Symphony, Cape Cod Symphony, Orlando
Philharmonic, Palm Beach Pops and the Walt Disney World Orchestra. She has toured with the
Mantovani Orchestra (Japan 2001), and the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players. As
accompanist, she has been a staff pianist for the Boston Ballet School, Orlando Ballet and
Seminole Community College. At the Orlando Ballet School, she was an accompanist for
classes led by Gelsey Kirkland and Fernando Bujones. Jill has performed in concerts with
diverse musical styles featuring artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Dave Brubeck, Bucky
Pizzarelli and Ray Price. She joined "The Producers" National Tour for
performances in Tampa and Orlando. Recently, Jill participated in the UCF-Shakespeare
Festivals first ever musical, Sondheims "A Little Night Music." Jill
is an active freelance musician in Orlando, Florida.
