BRIEF BIO

THE BURNERS U.K. were formed of a core of seven of the most highly-regarded musicians in upstate New York, each of whom boasts more than 15 years experience. The unit is fronted by kinetic lead vocalist J Yager, (former frontman for upstate NY favorites The Refrigerators), flanked by the ultra-funky rhythm section of bassist (and former Refrigerators-mate) Chris Peck, drummer Todd Hanhurst, keyboardist Tony Perrino (of Tangueray National Talent Contest winners The Matt smith Band, and veteran guitar-slinger Joe Mele, (of Albany, NY bluesmasters Ernie Williams & The Wildcats). Completing the dynamic ensemble are the powerhouse Sicilian Horns, consisting of trumpet ace Tony Gambaro, and saxophonist Box Dragone (both formerly of acclaimed upstate NY R&B faves Out of Control).

THE BURNERS U.K. have gained substantial notoriety throughout the Northeast for consistently delivering electrifying, high-energy performances that draw "standing room only" crowds. Combining masterful stage presence with powerful musicianship and a repertoire of solid, well-crafted, horn-powered R&B, rock & pop favorites, THE BURNERS U.K. entertain and involve audiences of virtually every age and background. Their shows are at once part Rolling Stone, part James Brown, and part Flying Wallendas. The resulting concoction is a sound, a passion, and a fire that is uniquely THE BURNERS U.K.

7-Piece Rock / R&B / Pop unit featuring "The Sicilian Horns". "Regional Supergroup" hailing from Albany, NY. Members were previously in various high-profile regional acts (including The Refrigerators, Ernie Williams & The Wildcats, Out of Control and The Matt Smith Band). Formed THE BURNERS U.K. in April of 1998. Since inception, consistently #1 draw in market. Group performed 85 shows in 1998; 150+ shows in 1999.

DISCOGRAPHY / AIRPLAY INFORMATION

Band released debut CD "Burnin' Down The House" in July of 1999 on BUK Music. CD contains 8 cuts, all of which are covers of classic songs by artists including Earth, Wind & Fire, Wild Cherry, Al Green, Jackie Wilson, Delbert McClinton and more. All songs licensed for release. Singles "Your Love Keeps Liftin' Me Higher (Higher & Higher)", "Let's Stay Together" and "Shining Star" have been in regular rotation on MYJB 95.5 FM, "B95", Albany, NY (50j,000 watt adult contemporary) and WRVE 99.5 FM "The River", Albany, NY (25,000 watt, adult-contemporary) since release in July of 199. CD reached #79 weekly album sales position in market as of December, 1999.
