A descendent of the Clan Mackintosh,
Victoria began at age 4 on the piano, and by age 7 was composing original music. She
entrances her audiences as she so effortlessly weaves her Harp, Piano and Vocal abilities.
Through the years she has performed with artists such as Melissa Manchester, Roberta
Flack, Peabo Bryson, James Ingram and the rock band 'Kansas'. She has appeared at
many special events including the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame
Awards honoring Dinah Shore, Ted Turner, Bill Cosby, and Andy Griffith.Most recently
Victoria toured with the internationally acclaimed Irish Band "The Chieftains".
For several years she performed as a Solo
Artist for the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, Carusos Palace and Gaylord Palms
Resort & Spa on both piano and harp. She has continually been a favorite for the
special events at Walt Disney World, and has also performed for concerts and special
events as orchestral harpist and pianist with the Florida Symphony Orchestra, Florida Pops
Orchestra and many more.
Victoria is also in high demand as a
clinician/performing artist and in 2003 was featured at HarpCon in Bloomington, Indiana,
The Somerset Folk Harp Festival in New Jersey, and the FHF Harp Conference in Daytona
Beach Shores, Florida. She was commissioned by Mid-East Mfg. to write a harp method book,
"You CAN Play the Harp," which is being distributed internationally. Victoria
was recently selected to be included in the Millennium Edition of the Marquis
"Whos Who of American Women." featuring women chosen because of their
professional accomplishments.
Victoria performs a wide range of vocal
repertoire from opera and oratorio to musical theater, from standards and easy listening
popular favorites to Celtic shows. Her classical work includes an appearance with the
Florida Symphony Orchestra as a soprano soloist with "Messiah" at the Bob Carr
Auditorium. She has been privileged to sing for dignitaries including Mother Theresa.
In 2000 her harp solo album "The
Soothing Harp," featuring four of her original compositions, was released
internationally by Madacy Records. Two of her songs "Mystic Waters", an original
piece, and "Greensleeves" were chosen for the compilation CD "Perfect
Calm" part of the "Healing Garden" series being sold through Barnes and
Nobel, Target, Coty Makeup, Tower Records and several other outlets. Other recorded works
by Victoria include "Harp Dreams" where familiar classics such as Dvoraks
"Largo" and "Scarborough Fair" come alive with her original
arrangements. Two tracks off this album, "Largo" and "Eleanor
Plunkett" stayed on the charts as #1 & #2 in the New Age category for several
weeks on MP3.com and # 2 on Celticways.com. "Harp Favorites" is a collection of
her most requested songs ranging from Broadway to popular favorites including
"Memory, "Romeo and Juliet" "Dust in the Wind", "Wind
Beneath My Wings," the perfect CD to set that romantic mood. You can hear
Victorias music on radio stations as far away as Siberia and Germany.
To perfect her craft in Celtic Harp, Victoria
traveled to Europe to train with the experts. In Dublin, Ireland she studied with Aibhlin
McCrann and in Edinburough, Scotland she studied with Isobel Mieras. Victoria's ability to
share her knowledge with others has resulted in the development of many students. Through
teaching voice and piano at Rollins College, Valencia Community College, The University of
Central Florida, and private lessons Victoria has touched the lives and hearts of many
gifted musicians. Her students have appeared on Star Search, Soap Operas, Broadway touring
companies throughout Europe and the United States as well as placing first in National and
State Competitions.
